Coimbatore: With Covid raging in Tamil Nadu and the recently elected DMK government shoulders a big responsibility of handling the situation carefully. Chief Minister MK Stalin leapfrogs unlike other CMs in the country to don Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) and inspect the condition of Covid patients in a Coimbatore Hospital on Sunday.
The CM has been inspecting each and every district and this weekend he is scheduled to inspect the most affected districts — Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Erode. He inaugurated ‘Car Ambulance’ as an emergency facility in Tiruppur and Coimbatore districts while in Tiruppur and Erode he handed over appointment orders to doctors and nurses to join their new jobs as there is a huge requirement of frontline workers. Besides, 50 car ambulances are deployed in 5 zones of City corporation, 10 per zone are deployed.
He also inspected a shed with 300 oxygen beds which were temporarily set up by the government. He checked with the doctors in the Coimbatore Government Hospital if the ratio and patients and oxygen beds are proper. Then the 68-year-old entered a Covid ward in the hospital to know if the patients are being treated well. Stalin saw a plan for a 400-bedded permanent building at a cost of Rs 14 crore.
On his arrival at the Tiruppur Medical College and Hospital, he launched an emergency car ambulance on Sunday morning. At least 20 car ambulances in the district will be dedicated to serve the Covid patients.
Amid inspections, the CM has taken to Twitter and assured that the Tamil Nadu government will give its best to eradicate the virus motivated the people by saying, "We will combat the adversities till we win. I am with the people of Tamil Nadu."
