Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated 'Anna-Kalaignar Arivalayam', the DMK party office, at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in New Delhi on Saturday. The event was attended by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary of CPI (M) Sitharaman Yechury and UP Opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav.
The Anna-Kalaignar Arivalayam is designed in a way to provide emphasis on Dravidian architecture with four tall pillars. The office will have bust statues of Anna and Kalaignar at the entrance and the Arivalayam will also have an advisory forum for DMK executives and a library.
Earlier, DMK president Stalin said, the DMK office is a compelling symbol in national politics and it will be a vehicle to implement 'Dravidian model'.

The inauguration of the office building also comes at a time when MK Stalin has pitched to unite the state parties, Congress and Communist parties in the country to fight against BJP and right-wing forces in 2024 Parliamentary Elections.
The 1,008 sq m of land was allotted to DMK in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Road in 2013. The AIADMK also has 1,008 sq m of land on Kotla Road. The other regional parties including TMC, Samajwadi Party and RJD also have their offices at Vasant Vihar and Kotla Road.

All the more, DMK is currently the third largest party in Lok Sabha and it is for the second time in a row a regional party from Tamil Nadu has emerged as third largest party in Lok Sabha.
