Chennai: A 27-year-old doctor killed herself due to the fear of clearing National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Post Graduate medical admission in Coimbatore on Thursday. The female doctor reportedly took the extreme step since her family members refused to let her skip the test.


According to a report on ABP Nadu, Rashi completed MBBS in the year 2020. She got married to Abisekh (30) six months ago and she started to prepare for NEET.  


She was staying in her mother's home in Kamarajar Nagar of Mettupalayam and was studying for the exam. 


On Thursday, she went to the third floor of her home to study and did not come down for lunch. 


The family member grew suspicious and they went to the third floor to check on Rashi. However, they could not open the door since it was locked from the inside.

They immediately broke open the door and Rashi's mother Senthamarai, who is also a doctor, rushed inside. However, she was shocked to find Rashi unconscious.


She then took her to Mettupalayam Government Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.


The police also registered a case under unnatural death and the investigation is on.


The preliminary investigation also revealed that Rashi had been refusing to attend the exam. However, her mother, brother and sister-in-law insisted her to write the exams.
