Chennai: A man impregnated his live-in partner’s daughter by raping her and made her deliver the baby at home. After the incident came to light with a help of a PHC, the man and his partner were arrested by the police. The police arrested the woman along with her partner since the rape took place with the permission of the woman. 


The woman (38), was a daily wage labourer and she was widowed after the demise of the girl's father five years ago, said a report on Times of India. 


Later, the 38-year-old woman developed an affair with a 50-year-old man and they started living-in together. Last year, he allegedly expressed his desire to marry the woman's daughter and started raping her with the knowledge of her mother. Once she became pregnant, the woman reportedly forced the girl to drop out of school. 


The man also tied a thali on the girl, said a report on The New Indian Express.

Further, the mother in order to avoid suspicion confined the girl within their home. She bought medicines and kept her home for 10 months. 


On May 1, the girl started having labour pain and the woman delivered the girl's baby in the bathroom.

However, the incident came to light after the woman took the girl’s boy baby to a PHC since he was unwell.


Upon learning about her age, the PHC informed Child Welfare Committee. Based on the compaint of CWC, the police registered a case under POCSO Act.
