Several posters have cropped up in Chennai against RN Ravi after his remark that foreign funds fulled anti-sterlite protests on Saturday. The posters with hashtags 'Get out Ravi' and 'Dictator Ravi' were pasted on the day PM Modi is visiting Chennai.
According to ANI, "#WATCH | Tamil Nadu: Posters with hashtags 'Get out Ravi' and 'Dictator Ravi' were seen at various places in Chennai today."
Meanwhile, DMK-led alliance announced a massive protest on April 12 against Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi for his remark. The Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) said that they will not stop the protest until he stops such activities that lowers the dignity of the protest.
In a statement, SPA leaders said that Governor's acts have been "controversial and mysterious" ever since he took over the office in the state. He is also trying to support RSS and BJP which is against the oath he took in accordance with the constitution.
“To say that the Kudankulam (nuclear power plant) and Sterlite protests were driven by funds from abroad is a denigration of the Tamil Nadu people. These are people’s struggles in which lakhs (of them) took part. What is the ulterior motive behind diverting such protests as a foreign conspiracy,” the SPA asked, as per PTI.
The statement said, “Our struggle will not cease until he stops activities that lower the Assembly’s dignity.”
The announcement of SPA came in a joint statement with the attestation of DMK's TR Baalu, Congress chief KS Alagiri, CPM chief K Balakrishnan, CPI's Mutharasan, DK leader Veeramani, MDMK chief Vaiko, VCK founder Thol Thirumavalavan, MMK leader MH Jawahirullah, IUML president KM Khader Mohideen, KMDK chief ER Eswaran and TVK chief T Velmurugan.
On April 5, RN Ravi created controversy while addressing civil service aspirants in Raj Bhavan by alleging that foreign funds fulled the protest against Sterlite plant in Thoothukudi and Kudankulam.
On the controversy regarding the delay in providing approvals for Bills by the Governor, SPA said that Ravi did not answer the government when his response was sought but he provided an explanation during his speech to the students.
Earlier, Ravi said that if a Bill was "withheld" then that means the Bill in question was dead, as per the report.
