Chennai: An unidentifiable dead body of a woman with complete injuries to the face was found on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore on Monday. When the police reached the spot based on a tipoff and retrieved CCTV footage, the video showed the woman falling from a speeding SUV and subsequently two vehicles on the road running over her.


Following this, the police have registered a case under suspicious death and have formed two special teams to probe into the death and identify the body.


According to reports, the passersby on Monday early morning informed the traffic investigation wing of Coimbatore police that a body of a woman was found on the road and many vehicles had run over her leaving her face completely smashed. On the basis of the tipoff, Inspector Muthumani went to the spot  and started the probe.

The Peelamedu police collected CCTV footage from a nearby commercial establishment and witnessed the woman's body being thrown off from a SUV car. Within sometime, two vehicles ran over her. The CCTV footage showed two people getting off the vehicle and seeing the body but leaving the place.




However, when the police went to retrieve the body, the face was completely smashed and the woman was half naked. Hence, the police have registered a case under sucipious death and also suspect that it could be a murder. The police have sent the body for post-mortem to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) and the report of autopsy is still awaited. The two special police teams are continuing the investigation.
