A day after sanitation workers found body of based industrialist and film producer, Bhaskar, at Chennai's Chinmaya Nagar-Nerkundram Road, police on Sunday arrested the accused in Chennai's Thiruvallur Sholavaram.


The assailant wrapped the body in a plastic bag and dumped it near Cooum river on Saturday. Police rushed to the spot after the sanitation workers informed them about the incident. Police on Saturday said that the deceased person was a 62-year-old industrialist, Bhaskar. The police had formed 6 special teams to nab the murderers.

Bhaskar, who hails from Adambakkam in Chennai, was in the construction business, said police. According to the Times of India report, at around 7 am on Saturday, a conservancy worker spotted the body in a garbage bag on a roadside, the police further said.


It was reported that the man's hands and legs were tied and the assailant injured his head and neck. The body was shifted to Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.


After police's preliminary investigation, they found that Bhaskar and his wife were slated to go for a wedding reception. Bhaskar left the house at around 4 PM and hasn't returned. After an hour, Bhaskar's wife lodged a complaint at Adambakkam Police Station.


"We found the assailants had used Bhaskar's ATM card and withdrew Rs 1,000 twice from two different ATMs in Vadapalani. We are yet to ascertain the motive," a police officer probing the case told the Times of India.
