South Tamil Nadu To Get More Rains In Next 24 Hours, IMD Predicts
India Meteorological Department (IMD) also predicts a cyclonic circulation in the northwest Indian region from January 3.
New Delhi: After heavy rains lashed districts in north Tamil Nadu, isolated rains of heavy to very heavy magnitude have now hit the southern parts of the state.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) Sunday predicted heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours in parts of south Tamil Nadu and said it would decrease thereafter.

After facing backlash for failing to predict the recent rains in Tamil Nadu, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has also predicted that heavy rains would lash Rameshwaram and the surrounding regions.

Besides heavy rainfall in south India, the India Meteorological Department also predicted that a cyclonic circulation is likely to affect the northwest Indian region from January 3, and under its influence, widespread rainfall or snowfall is likely during January 3 to 7 with the possibility of isolated rainfall over Jammu and Kashmir on January 4 and 5 and over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on January 5.
