President Droupadi Murmu visited the Matrimandir at Auroville and inaugurated a conference is on 'Aspiring for Supermind in the City of Consciousness' on Tuesday on her day 2 visit to Puducherry. In the morning, Murmu took her time out for a stroll on Promenade beach in Puducherry amid tight security. Murmu arrived in Puducherry on a two-day visit on Monday. She was staying in a heritage building in the Union Territory. 


On Tuesday, Murmu went on a walk along the beach for 40 minutes. Surrounded by security personnel, the President took strolls up and down from the place of her stay to Gandhi Thidal. The usual morning walkers were stopped for a while due to President's activities. 


Further, Murmu visited Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry to pay homage to Sri Aurobindo, the spiritual savant and founder of Ashram, at the memorial. She also paid visit to the memorial of Mother of Ashram (Meira Alfasa). 



The President was then scheduled to visit Auroville, an international city located inside the borders of adjacent Tamil Nadu, to take part in the celebrations of Sri Aurobindo's 150th birth anniversary before concluding her visit to Puducherry in the afternoon.


Murmu is visiting Puducherry for the first time after becoming President. At a civic reception hosted by the territorial government on Monday, she lavished praise on Puducherry's tremendous achievement in a variety of disciplines.


According to an official statement, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan organised a meal for President Droupadi Murmu at Raj Nivas on Monday.


Murmu was greeted with a bouquet by Soundararajan.


Chief Minister N Rangasamy, various ministers, Puducherry Assembly Speaker R Sivam, Deputy Speaker P Rajavelu and administration officials were among those who attended the dinner, the release issued by the LG's office said.
