Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh on Tuesday asked the BJP to not spread 'lies and rumours' after the saffron party raised objection over a complaint by five MPs that their names were included in a proposed select committee of the House for the Delhi services bill without their consent. BJP said it was 'extremely objectionable' and that it has urged the Chairman that the matter be handed over to the privilege committee. Meanwhile, reacting to the entire controversy, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was 'furious' and was saying that 'send Raghav Chadha's name to the Privileges Committee'.

"This is extremely objectionable. Mentioning the name of a member (of Parliament) without his consent is a matter of privilege. A member of AAP proposed names of five members while the provision is to take their prior permission. This matter is with the Chairman and we have urged that it be handed over to the privilege committee," BJP leader Sushil Modi said.

AAP's Sanjay Singh posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) and said, "The Home Minister was furious in the House, said “Send @raghav_chadha's name to the Privileges Committee”. Don't you know that no one's signature is required to propose the name in the Select Committee? Do not spread lies and rumours, Home Minister."

Reacting to Home Minister's attack on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Rajya Sabha, Sanjay Singh said that Shah should have known that one is not allowed to call out the name of a person who is not a member of the House.

AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said that the opposition made it a big issue because they got 'scared' of his (Raghav Chadha) speech.

"Raghav Chadha proposed the names of 19 MPs (for the select committee), of which five members refused. They made it a big issue out of it because they got scared of his speech," Kakkar added.
