Chennai: The National Investigation Agency raided the residences of three persons in two locations in Tamil Nadu on Friday following the arrest of two members from Salem for allegedly making country bombs and for having links with LTTE. 


According to a report India Today, raids were conducted in Salem and Sivaganga districts. In Salem, earlier two people identified as Sanjay Prakash and Naveen Chakravarthi were arrested three months ago. The NIA also took over the investigation in the case.

On Friday, the NIA officials raided residence in Chettichavadi near Yercadu Hill in Salem on Friday. The NIA found out that the duo rented the house for making weapons.


The two were reportedly involved in making country bombs at the home in Sevvaipettai. They also reportedly tried to make guns and crude bombs.

The NIA is exploring the lines of whether Sanjay and Naveen made the weapons to join or help LTTE.


Earlier, NIA said that Naveen and Sanjay formed an outfit World Tamil Justice Court (WTJC). The duo was reportedly in touch with a man, who claimed to be a former LTTE through Clubhouse.


Naveen is a school dropout while Sanjay is a BE graduate in Computer Science.  They were functioning with code names 'Freedom' and 'Oast'. 


When questioned by the 'Q' branch after their arrest, the duo reportedly said that they were motivated to attack stone quarries since they affect the biodiversity. They also reportedly revealed that they were inspired by LTTE. 


They also said that they were working to put an end to target drug trafficking and to stop sexual harassment against women.

 In Sivaganga district, the residence of a man Vigneswaran was searched over his alleged connections with Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
