Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin unveiled a logo on the occasion of the centenary birth celebration of former Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi on Friday. The logo said 'Kalaignar 100' from 1924 to 2023. The logo was received by the former Governor of West Bengal Gopalkrishna Gandhi at a function held at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai.
During the event, Stalin announced that a convention centre with 5,000 seating capacity will be set up in Chennai. He said that the centre will be named after Kalaignar (the way Karunanidhi is popularly known in Tamil Nadu).

Unveiling the logo, Stalin said, "It will be a best-in-class convention center that will be set up on 25 acres of land. It will meet growing needs in the future."
"Although the Chennai Convention Centre at Nandambakkam covers 10,000 square meters and additional construction has been taken up on 12,000 square meters area, it is not sufficient to meet growing needs. Hence, the Kalaignar convention center will be designed to meet future requirements," the Chief Minister said.
Stalin also said that the convention center will host international conventions and have exhibition halls restaurants, parks and spacious parking lots besides providing quality accommodation.
He came up with the idea of such an international convention centre following his recent visit to Singapore and Japan to woo investors to Tamil Nadu, Stalin said.
Stalin also inaugurated a photo exhibition in the presence of Gandhi and state ministers. The exhibition was organised by TN Public Relations Department.
The government has planned year-long celebrations to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Karunanidhi, who was born on June 3, 1924.
