Congratulating the Congress for its victory in Karnataka Elections 2023, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that disqualification of MP Rahul Gandhi, misusing premier investigative agencies against political opponents, imposing Hindi, rampant corruption have all echoed in the minds of Karnataka people. During the voting, he said that the people have upheld the Kannadiga Pride and given a befitting lesson to BJP.


On Saturday CM Stalin said, “Congrats @INCIndia on spectacular winning of Karnataka. The unjustifiable disqualification of brother @RahulGandhi as MP, misusing premier investigative agencies against political opponents, imposing Hindi, rampant corruption have all echoed in the minds of Karnataka people while voting and they have upheld the #KannadigaPride by teaching a befitting lesson to BJP's vindictive politics.”






“The landmass of Dravidian family stands clear of BJP. Now let us all work together to win 2024 to restore democracy and constitutional values in India,” he said.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, the Congress was leading in 136 seats while BJP was leading in 64 seats as of 5 PM on Saturday. 


In the results declared by ECI for 161 of 224 seats, Congress bagged 96 seats while BJP bagged 45 seats. The Janata Dal (Secular) also received 16 seats. 


In the elections, one candidate of each Kalyana Rajya Pragathi Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha also recorded their win. Two independent candidates also bagged a seat each in the polls. 


Meanwhile, the Chief Minister faces of Congress, Siddaramaiah won Varuna Assembly seat with 1,19,430 votes while DK Shivakumar received 1,42,156 seats. Now, the focus of the Congress party also lies in deciding the next CM of the state.
