Chennai: The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to grant an interim stay on the HC order directing second post-mortem of a Class 12 girl who died under mysterious circumstances at the premises of a private school in Kallakurichi.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed the plea moved by the parents of the girl to include a doctor of his choice on the panel constituted by the high court to conduct the second post-mortem of the girl's body. The high court declined to entertain this plea made by the father for including doctors of his choice on the panel.
The SC also said that it will hear the matter on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Madras High Court bench of Justice N Sathish Kumar ordered a second autopsy of the victim on Monday. After the violence in Kallakurichi, the bench also directed Tamil Nadu government to form special teams to identify those who indulged in the violence on Sunday.

The HC gave the order based on the plea moved by the victim's father seeking a second postmortem examination in the case as he suspected it to be a murder. The initial postmortem report said that the victim died due to hemorrhage and shock as a result of multiple injuries.

The case pertains to the death of a Class 12 girl on July 13 in Chinnasalem. As per the school, the 17-year-old girl died by suicide but the family members allege a foul play into the death since the autopsy report revealed that she sustained injuries before the death.
