Chennai: Pan-India Director Maniratnam has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai with COVID symptoms. However, he tested negative for novel coronavirus on Tuesday.

The director last week attended the teaser launch of his ambitious project 'Ponniyin Selvan' in Chennai on July 8, as per a report on ABP Nadu.

The launch event was also attended by Jeyam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram Prabhu, Trisha and AR Rahman along with the crew and media persons.

During the first coronavirus outbreak, Maniratnam was in the news along with his son Nandan for self-isolating themselves since they returned from a foreign country.
