Chennai: AIADMK coordinator O Pannerselvam and co-coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami paid homage to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Sunday along with former Ministers and party cadre. They also took an oath to continue the legacy of Jayalalithaa, who is fondly called Amma in the state. 


On the other hand, VK Sasikala, expelled AIADMK leader and aide of Jayalalithaa, also paid homage for the first time on the death anniversary of Jayalalithaa after her release from prison in disproportionate's assets case. 


According to a report on The Hindu, AIADMK leaders under the leadership of O Panneerselvam took an oath on Sunday. AIADMK members together pledged to protect the party from "enemies" and to make the party into a fortress that cannot be entered by anyone.

Taking on the ruling DMK government, the AIADMK cadre pledged to write an end to the rule of DMK since the family allegedly took over the government with their lies. They also pledged to take the government down if they remove the name of Amma from Amma clinics.

On the other hand, VK Sasikala took another oath to unite AIADMK and to make the dreams of Jayalalithaa come true. Later, Sasikala observed two minutes of silence to pay tribute to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, AMMK cadre who gathered at Jayalalithaa's memorial in Marina beach tried to create a ruckus by stopping the car of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami once he came out of the memorial after paying homage to the late leader. However, the police detained the people creating a ruckus and cleared the road for vehicular movement.
