Chennai: Many leaders from Tamil Nadu including freedom fighters have a ward or a taluk or a street in their name as a remembrance of their service to the nation. In that format, some of the areas in Tamil Nadu named after leaders such as Periyar Nagar, Kamaraj Nagar, Anna Nagar, Jeeva Nagar, MGR Nagar and JJ Nagar.
In this backdrop, someone who made his debut in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2021 but has vast political experience has already joined the list of leaders after getting a ward named after him in Coimbatore. The leader is Chepauk MLA and DMK youth wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, a ward was named after him and the ward is called "Udhaya Nagar" in Tholampalayam.

The area located near Anaikatti has several tribal residents. The tribals immediately after the decision kept a name board with the image of DMK MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin and Tamil Nadu CM Stalin.
When asked the tribals, they said, the panchayat leader from DMK named the area after the name of the DMK leader.
Talking to ABP Nadu, Tholampalayam panchayat president Jaya Senthil said, the people of the ward received patta for their lands during DMK's period under the then CM Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Hence, as a remembrance to the family, the sixth and seventh ward of Seenguli has been named after Udhayanidhi Stalin.
This is the first ward in Tamil Nadu to be named after the MLA.
