Chennai: Tamil Nadu police arrested 29 persons from Haryana for cheating and impersonation during the central government defence exam in Chennai on Sunday. The candidates reportedly received answers through Bluetooth from a person standing outside the exam hall. 


According to a report on Times of India, the direct recruitment Group 'C' exam for the union government was conducted on Sunday. The exam was held in two shifts at Army Public School in Nandambakkam. Around 1,728 persons attended the exam at the centre. 


In the evening shift, while the invigilator was checking on the students. The invigilator found a student behaving suspiciously and pressing his ears. Hence, the invigilator took him out of the exam hall. Then the army personnel found micro-bluetooth concealed in his ears.

The flying squad immediately checked the remaining candidates and nabbed 28 men who were using the bluetooths.

Another person was also nabbed for writing the exam instead of the candidate. 


The 29 persons were taken to Nandambakkam police station. Upon questioning it was found out that the men were connected to a conference call to a person who was waiting outside the hall and helping them with answers.

A case was booked under IT Act. The case was slapped based on a complaint from the defence exam in-charge of the Army Public School. 


Later, the police released them after they paid a penalty. However, they are barred from taking the exam for a lifetime. 


Meanwhile, one Vinoth Sakra from Sonipat in Haryana appeared for Sanjay. The police also nabbed Sanjay who was waiting outside the hall. Both of them were then booked under sections including impersonation of IPC.
