The AIADMK party is expected to pass 23 resolutions including against Tamil Nadu government for failing to fulfill the election promises and Karnataka government for planning to construct Mekedatu Dam. The party is also likely to pass resolutions accepting the party coordinator, co-coordinator and district secretaries of the party.
O Panneerselvam reaches Srivari Venkatachalapathy Kalayana Mandapam in Vangaram
The traffic came to an alert near Srivari Venkatachalapathy Kalyana Mandapam in Vanagaram where the general council meet is scheduled to take place on Thursday. As a result of the traffic jam, the meet has also got delayed.
The AIADMK General Council Meet is getting delayed due to the arrival of AIADMK coordinator OPS and co-coordinator EPS. Both the leaders are stuck in traffic near Vanaragam. Hence, the meeting has got delayed and it's expected to start after 11 AM.
In the wee hours of Thursday, division bench reserved Madras HC's order on AIADMK general council meeting. In the order viewed as blow for Edappadi Palaniswami faction, the division bench said that only 23 resolutions could be passed in the meeting.

Chennai: AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam (OPS) and Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) started to the party office as the party's general council meeting was scheduled at 10 am Venkatachalapathy Palace on Thursday. The AIADMK general council meeting is scheduled to take place amid the unitary leadership row in AIADMK.
The controversy even made Madras High Court hear a plea moved by AIADMK General Council member Shanmugam in the wee hours of Thursday. The case was heard by a division bench of Justice M Duraiswamy and Justice Sunder Mohan who appealed against Madras's High Court order pronounced on Wednesday.

In the order, the bench said that only decisions over 23 resolutions could be taken and other resolutions should not be passed in the meeting, as per a report on ANI.
However, the court said, the AIADMK members can discuss other matters of the party.
The order came after hours of Madras HC refusing to restrain AIADMK general council meeting scheduled on Thursday.
The general council meet was originally viewed as a way for EPS faction to show its strength. Even several leaders who supported OPS camp shifted their support to EPS during the run-up to the meet. However, the court order has favoured the OPS faction.
The row between EPS and OPS started after district secretaries reportedly demanded the party to select a single leader and claimed that their performance has reduced due to the dual leadership of the party.
