CBI Inspects RG Kar Fourth Floor Again
The family of the deceased doctor has repeatedly spoken about the conduct of Ghosh, and expressed doubts about the investigation.
"I can't understand what’s happening with the investigation. It has been a week, and they have only managed to arrest that Sanjay Roy. With each passing day, I am losing hope," the victim's mother was quoted as saying in the ABP Ananda report.
She added: "The principal is being interrogated continuously, but why isn’t he being arrested? What is the CBI trying to find out from him that we don’t know?"
According to the report, the central agency visited RG Kar Medical College once again on Sunday. The team went to the fourth floor of the emergency wing, where the doctor's body was found in a seminar room.
Renovation work had recently started in the room directly opposite to where the body was discovered, but it was halted after a controversy erupted.
Sources told ABP Ananda that the CBI has asked the former principal to submit the copy of the order under which the renovation work was initiated.
The CBI is also questioning Sandip Ghosh about why a wall near the seminar hall was demolished.
The investigation into the doctor’s rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College was initially being carried out by the Kolkata Police, but it was handed over to the CBI on the direction of the Calcutta High Court. Now, the Supreme Court has also taken suo motu cognisance of the case. A three-judge bench led by the Chief Justice of India is set to hear the matter on Tuesday.
