Uttar Pradesh: Heavy Rain Alert Issued In Lucknow, Schools To Remain Shut In Many Regions
Schools To Remain Shut: All government and private schools in Lucknow, Noida, Gaziabad, Kanpur, and Agra will be closed until class 12 tomorrow due to heavy rains.
In wake of the heavy rainfall alert in Lucknow and nearby regions, several districts have declared a school holiday for the second consecutive day tomorrow. All government and private schools in Lucknow, Noida, Gaziabad, Kanpur, and Agra will be closed until class 12, ABP News reported.

“Cities including Lucknow, Noida, Gaziabad, Kanpur & Agra shut schools for all children up to class XII owing to a warning of heavy rainfall issued by the weather department for Oct 10. The state has already been witnessing incessant rainfalls in the past few day,” news agency ANI reported.
Due to the heavy downpour over the last 24 hours, the UP Government ordered the closure of all schools in Aligarh until Class 12. Schools will be closed until October 12. In a statement, District Magistrate Indra Veer Singh announced the decision, which applies to all AMU-affiliated schools.
All schools across Noida and Greater Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar will stay close on Monday on account of excessive rainfall, according to an official order, news agency PTI reported.

"Therefore, all the principals and headmasters should ensure compliance of the order," Singh stated in the order issued late Sunday night.
Continuous rain brought down temperature in Gautam Buddh Nagar over the weekend by almost 10 degrees, with the district receiving 25 mm rainfall till Sunday morning, according to IMD figures, PTI reported.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued orange alert regarding heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightening for western Uttar Pradesh areas on Sunday and asked authorities to stay alert for Monday as well.
