In a tragic accident in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur, a fire broke out in a passenger bus when the vehicle carrying members of a marriage party from Mau collided with an overhead high-voltage wire on Monday, resulting in the death of at least five people and injuring 11 others. The accident occurred as the bus was en route to Mahahar temple in the Mardah police station area.


According to SHO Dharmendra Kumar Pandey, the bus caught fire upon contact with the high-tension electric line, news agency PTI reported. Relief and rescue operations are currently underway. District Information Officer Rakesh Kumar confirmed that the district magistrate and other senior officials had arrived at the scene.


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath expressed distress over the accident and announced financial aid for the victims, "The tragedy in Gajipur district is extremely distressing and heartbreaking. My condolences are with the grieving families. Financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs for the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand for the seriously injured, along with directions for their free treatment, have been provided. Prayers to the Almighty for granting eternal peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured."

2 Killed As Bus And Truck Collide in Jharkhand's Ranchi 


Two individuals lost their lives on Sunday in Jharkhand's Ranchi district when a bus collided with a truck, causing both vehicles to crash into a flyover pillar, according to police reports.


The accident occurred around 5 am when the bus and truck struck a pillar of the Tupudana flyover, resulting in the tragic collision, stated a senior officer. Meera Singh, in-charge of the Tupudana Police Station, informed PTI that a woman and a child were among the deceased. The process of identifying the victims is currently underway.


The bus was en route to Chaibasa from Ranchi at the time of the accident.
