Following a car accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi's son and daughter-in-law were injured but are out of danger.

The son and daughter-in-law of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi survived a serious car accident on Tuesday evening. The accident occurred on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near Kannauj when Abhishek, the minister’s son, lost control of their Mercedes and collided with a divider. Abhishek and his wife, Krishnika, were en route to Lucknow when the luxury vehicle veered off course and crashed into the divider. The impact of the crash left the Mercedes in a mangled state. Krishnika sustained a serious injury to her nose.

The couple was initially admitted to a hospital in Kannauj before being referred to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow for further treatment. Both have suffered injuries but are reported to be out of danger.

UP Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi Says 'Mahadev Averted Mishap'

Minister Nandi and his family rushed to the hospital in Lucknow to be by their side. Eyewitness accounts and police reports confirm that Abhishek was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The front section of the car was completely destroyed, with the left front tyre dislodged and flung away from the vehicle.

Elaborating about the accident, Nand Gopal Nandi took to X and wrote, "Today, while returning from Delhi to Lucknow, the car of son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Krishnaika met with an accident! Seeing the horror of the pictures, it seems as if Mahadev himself appeared in person and averted some mishap! The holy month of Savan, the great festival of worship of Mahadev and the protection of a child from a great loss in this accident! The dreadful incident of 12th July 2010 flashed in my mind, when in this very month of Savan, Mahadev had pulled me back from the jaws of death!"

"This is the miracle of the grace of Mahakaal, the lord of all times! I repeatedly express my emotional gratitude at the feet of Lord Bholenath!" he remarked.

Expressing gratitude, the UP Minister further mentioned that CM Yogi Adityanath and fellow cabinet members called to enquire about the well-being of his son and daughter-in-law and wished them a speedy recovery.

"In this difficult time, we are receiving prayer messages from many family members, friends, well-wishers, loved ones, supporters and workers! For your information, my son and daughter-in-law are safe! There are some injuries, which are being treated properly under the supervision of doctors! On behalf of the entire family, I thank you all for your love, affection and heartfelt best wishes during this difficult time!" he added.

This incident comes just 18 days after Abhishek and Krishnika's wedding. The couple tied the knot on July 11 in Srinagar, followed by a reception in Prayagraj on July 20. The reception saw the attendance of several prominent figures including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, and Sikkim Governor Lakshman Acharya.

Local police facilitated the initial medical care at Kannauj hospital and, upon doctors’ advice, transferred the couple to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.
