UP: At Least 7 Coaches Of Goods Train Derail In Amroha, Shiv Sena UBT & Congress Hit Out At Railways Minister Vaishnaw
The goods train, which was headed towards Delhi from Uttarakhand, derailed between Ghaziabad and Moradabad section in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.
Uttar Pradesh: Days after the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express derailment in Gonda, a goods train derailed on Saturday in Amroha yard of UP's Moradabad district. The incident occurred at 5 PM between Ghaziabad and Moradabad section, right after it crossed the Amroha railway station, Moradabad Division's Senior Deputy Commercial Manager (DCM) Aditya Gupta told news agency PTI.
Fortunately, no body was injured in the accident. However, fifteen trains have been either cancelled or diverted after the incident at Amroha Yard disrupted train movement on the route.
The opposition alliance leaders including Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress hit out at Union Railways Minister after the derailment incident.

While some media reports say around seven coaches of the frieght train derailed, PTI reported that twelve wagons of the train had derailed.
"In the meantime trains on this route are being diverted via Ghaziabad, Hapur and Gajraula," Gupta said.
He said that the train Delhi-bound train was coming from Uttarakhand when the incident took place.
According to Rajkumar Singh, DRM, Moradabad. Northern Railway, a team is at the spot to assess the situation and efforts are underway to restore movement of trains as soon as possible.

Officials told PTI that work on the section is underway and is expected to be completed by Sunday morning.

Following the train derailment, opposition leaders began critcising the Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi posted on X: "Not a single day goes by without some bad news coming from the Railways. But Mantriji hain Mast, PR hai zabardast."
