ABP Ganga Maha Adhiveshan: Who Will Be Congress Candidate For CM in Uttarakhand? Harish Rawat Responds

ABP Maha Adhiveshan Dehradun: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had arrived at the ABP Ganga Dehradun Maha Adhiveshan. During this time, he was asked several political questions.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand is going to assembly elections next year, all political parties have geared up for it.

At ABP Ganga's special Dehradun Maha Adhiveshan on Monday, senior political leaders from all parties discussed their views and plans ahead of the polls.

Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Harish Rawat said if the party returns to power, all incomplete schemes will be given final shape. "But if Congress does not come to power, the public welfare schemes will never see the light of the day," he said.

Replying to a question on who will be their chief ministerial candidate, Rawat said the party will think about it.

"The party will decide what is best, but I will fulfil the responsibility that has been given to me," he said.

Rawat added that he is most concerned about the people of this state, and will follow the party's instructions.

Asked where would he contest the election from, he said his party will decide that for him.

Rawat said that the people of Uttarakhand are very sensible and they will decide who will form the government, but he hopes they will elect a good government. He said the BJP government has put a full stop to all the ambitious schemes planned or started during his term.

He also said the party's doors are always open for the leaders who left. "The Congress party has always stood by its people and will always be," he said.

Attacking the BJP government, Rawat said Uttarakhand now has the highest unemployment rate and the lowest development work.

"The state lags behind in providing quality health facilities and corruption is at its peak. But now the public will decide the fate of the state," he said, adding that the BJP government has cheated the people of the state.
