Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy faced sharp criticism from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) after a video surfaced showing his public outburst at Karimnagar District Collector Pamela Satpathy during an official event on Friday.
The incident occurred at the inauguration of a 24x7 water supply system in Karimnagar, which was also attended by Union Minister Manohar Lal and state Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. In the video, Srinivas Reddy is seen expressing frustration over alleged poor arrangements, as per PTI, using the phrase "What are you doing? Any common sense......" while confronting the Collector. Following this, the Collector was seen taken aback.
BRS MLC K. Kavitha condemned the minister's behaviour, terming it "shameful" and an insult to governance principles. Kavitha shared the video on the social media platform X, amplifying her call for accountability.
Taking to X, Kavitha Kalvakuntla said, "Absolutely shameful and unacceptable! Telangana Revenue Minister Sri Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, publicly humiliating Karimnagar Collector is not just an insult to her but to the entire ethos of governance."
"Misogyny and arrogance have no place in public office. Such actions are unacceptable and reflect poorly on leadership. We stand firmly with the esteemed lady collector and demand accountability from the minister and Congress Party. Respect for public servants is non-negotiable," she said.
