Telangana Floods: War Of Words Erupts Over Relief Work, Revanth Says 'KTR Merely Tweeting From US Holiday'

Initially, KTR criticised the Telangana government's response, questioning why the state had not arranged rescue helicopters.

As Telangana grapples with severe flooding, a tense confrontation unfolded between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday. While KTR raised concerns about Revanth Reddy's management of the flood situation, the CM brushed off the BRS leader's remarks, characterizing them as a mere tweet from the latter's vacation in the US.

Initially, KTR criticised the state government's response, questioning why Telangana had not arranged rescue helicopters. Drawing comparisonw with Andhra Pradesh, he also pointed out that the neighbouring state led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu managed to deploy six choppers for rescue operations.

KTR said, "6 rescue helicopters and 150 rescue boats being used by neighbouring Andhra Pradesh @ncbn Govt. Guess how many Helicopters and Boats our Telangana CM was able to manage to save lives? A BIG ZERO #CongressFailedTelangana."

Further, he also called out Revanth Reddy for alleged double standards, asking, "While in opposition, you demanded 25 lakhs compensation. Now will you give 5 lakhs and turn away?"

He alleged, "The opposition does not respond to any number of public issues pointed out."

Following KTR's comment, CM Revanth Reddy immediately hit out at the BRS leader. Revanth Reddy accused KTR of politicking from afar, stating as per NDTV, "KCR did not get out of his farmhouse. KTR is merrily tweeting during his holiday in the US while Telangana is suffering." The Chief Minister has been visiting flood-hit areas and assuring the public of the government's commitment to relief efforts.

On Tuesday, Revanth Reddy visited the families of flood victims in Khammam district.
