WATCH: Telangana Legislator Harish Rao's Office Vandalised In Siddipet, BRS Blames Congress

In the early hours of Saturday, a group of unidentified individuals reportedly stormed into Harish Rao's office, tearing down posters and banners.

In the early hours of Saturday, the office of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislator and former Telangana minister T. Harish Rao was vandalized by unidentified individuals in Siddipet town. The BRS has accused the ruling Congress party of being behind the attack.

Tensions in Siddipet escalated on Friday night when Congress workers erected a flex banner demanding Harish Rao's resignation as an MLA. The demand stemmed from criticisms that the Telangana government had fully implemented the crop loan waiver, a key promise made during the elections.

Earlier, Harish Rao had issued a challenge to the Telangana government, stating that he would resign as an MLA if the loan waiver was implemented. The situation became more heated when supporters of Harish Rao removed the banner on Friday night, leading to a confrontation between the two groups. Police intervened and managed to disperse the crowds before the situation could escalate further.

However, in the early hours of Saturday, a group of unidentified individuals reportedly stormed into Harish Rao's office, tearing down posters and banners while allegedly shouting slogans in support of the Congress party.

A tweet on former Minister Harish Rao Thanneeru's page alleged, "Congress goons attack on the Siddipet MLA’s official residence at midnight is an alarming display of lawlessness. Breaking locks and vandalizing property in such manner is not only undemocratic but also raises serious concerns. The police, rather than intervening to prevent this attack, seemingly protected the perpetrators. If an MLA's residence can be targeted so brazenly, what assurance do citizens have about their own safety?"

"The destruction of government property in the presence of police is utterly unacceptable. @TelanganaDGP garu to take immediate action against this shocking incident and to ensure that such lawlessness is not tolerated," he said.
