Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday condemned the recent incident where a student was beaten to death on a college campus in Patna. Yadav further slammed the NDA government over the current state of law and order in Bihar.

"It is very sad; law and order is deteriorating since the NDS government has come to power in Bihar," Yadav told reporters. He called for the strictest action taken against the accused and demanded their immediate arrest. "Strictest action must be taken against the accused, and they must be arrested soon," he urged.

Yadav went on to criticise the BJP, alleging that they "like" an increase in crime rates. "They (BJP) like when crimes increase. In every BJP-ruled state, the law and order situation is bad," he stated. He further pointed out that "if this had happened under the RJD government, they would have created havoc," he remarked.

The incident, which took place on May 27, involved a 22-year-old student, Harsh Raj, who was attacked by masked men on a college campus in Patna, leading to his death. Harsh was a third-year Vocational English student at BN College. He was taking an exam at Sultanganj Law College when he was assaulted by attackers named with sticks.

Initial investigative reports suggest that the attack stemmed from an altercation at a dandiya event during Dussehra last year. Chilling visuals from the campus show the attackers repeatedly hitting the victim with sticks. The police have arrested the main suspect and are continuing their investigation into the case.
