Four BJP workers were injured in Rajasthan's Kota on Thursday when the stage that was set up to welcome state minister Heeralal Nagar collapsed while he was being felicitated. According to party sources, Nagar did not suffer any severe injury during the first visit to his constituency for the first time after assuming the role of state minister (independent charge), as reported by news agency PTI.

The minister went up the stage set up at Gayatri Circle in Sangod to felicitate him, along with several party workers. When the Sangod MLA was being garlanded, the stage suddenly caved in and collapsed within seconds. The collapse caused the minister and party workers to fall with it.

Four BJP workers who sustained serious injuries were identified as Jaiveer Singh, Mahendra Sharma, Manoj Sharma, and Chandra Prakesh Soni, as reported by PTI.

All four were immediately rushed to a hospital where two of them were referred to MBS hospital in Kota, said party sources. Chandra Prakesh Soni and Mahendra Sharma suffered critical fractures and were being taken to a hospital in Jaipur for better medical care.

The felicitation ceremony had to be called off after the incident.
