Nine people were killed in a road accident in Panchola near, Jhalawar district, Rajasthan, news agency ANI reported on Sunday. The victims were returning from a wedding procession in a van when it collided with a truck. Jhalawar Superintendent of Police, Richa Tomar, confirmed the incident stating that the accused driver has been apprehended. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. 






“Nine people died in a road accident in Panchola near Aklera, of Jhalawar district. They were returning from a marriage procession in a van which collided with a truck,” Tomar told ANI. 






Earlier on Saturday, four people were reported dead after a car collided with a motorcycle and a stationary truck in Dudu town, Rajasthan, news agency PTI reported citing officials. According to the police, three occupants of the car were killed instantly, while the motorcyclist succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital. 


“Three people in the car died on the spot while the bike rider died on the way to the hospital,” the police said. 


The police further explained that the car driver attempted to avoid the motorcyclist but lost control of the vehicle, leading to the collision with the truck parked on the roadside. 


“The driver of the car was trying to save the biker but lost control over the vehicle which collided with the truck parked on the roadside,” police told PTI.
