One person was killed while several others were injured after a private bus overturned in Rajasthan’s Tonk late Tuesday night. The injured were shifted to a hospital and one of the passengers who sustained injuries told news agency PTI that the accident took place at around 12:30 to 1:00 am when the bus overturned on the main road.
"The incident took place around 12:30 am-1:00 am when we were sleeping. The bus overturned on the main road, and it felt like it was flying in the air," the passenger said.
On Tuesday, four people were killed and several others sustained injuries when a vehicle met with an accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
Among the deceased were three women, the officials said, adding that the accident took place at Nati Top Gabra in the Tangdar area of the north Kashmir district.

The injured were shifted to a hospital, they added.
In a similar incident on Tuesday, two people were killed while three others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a van and an auto rickshaw near Sakri village in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun on Tuesday.
All the victims were rushed to a primary health centre where Harishchandra (48)and Budhapal (45) were declared dead, police said.
The injured have been admitted to a hospital, SHO, Kadar Chowk, Veerpal Singh said.

A recent report published by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways stated that as many as 16,715 people were killed in road accidents in 2022 because of not wearing seat belts. Of the casualties, 8,384 were drivers while the remaining 8,331 were passengers, according to the report titled 'Road accidents in India — 2022'.
A total of 4,61,312 road accidents occurred in 2022, claiming 1,68,491 lives and leaving 4,43,366 people injured.
