Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was hospitalised on Thursday after he fractured his two toes while returning from a meeting, ANI reported. Gehlot received treatment at Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital in Jaipur and was later discharged.
"He fractured a left toe and also suffered an injury in a right toe," PTI quoted Dr Achal Sharma, superintendent of the Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital, as saying.
After treatment, Gehlot returned home, his office said. The veteran Congress leader, who faces polls later this year, has been recommended a week's rest. It was not immediately clear how he got the injuries.
"Today, after a meeting, while going to my room at my residence, both the toes got hurt after I slipped. After preliminary treatment at SMS Hospital, I have come to my residence. Due to the fracture, on the advice of doctors, I will continue working from home for a few days. Thank you for your wishes," Gehlot tweeted.
Earlier this week, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered ligament injuries in the left knee and left hip joint after her helicopter made an emergency landing near Siliguri due to bad weather on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when the TMC supremo was returning to Kolkata after a two-day trip to the northern districts of the state after campaigning for the July 8 Bengal panchayat elections.

She is presently undergoing treatment at home after briefly being admitted to SSKM Hospital.
Doctors have prescribed her to continue medications and restrict movement for the time being.
"The Chief Minister's condition has improved a little bit. However, she is still having pain which is exacerbated further by movement. She has been advised to continue medications as was advised and restricted movement for the time being," a government official told PTI.
