Folk singer V Saichander, known for his songs during the Telangana agitation, passed away at the age of 39 in Hyderabad after suffering a cardiac arrest on Thursday, ABP Desam reported. Saichander is survived by his wife and two children.
After the creation of Telangana, Saichander had joined Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and was made the chairman of the State Warehousing Corporation.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao visited Saichander's residence to pay his respects and offered condolences to the family members. CM KCR expressed shock at the sudden demise of Saichander, also known as Saichand.
He mentioned that Saichander possessed exceptional talent as a singer since his childhood. He also acknowledged Saichander's significant contribution through his songs during the Telangana agitation. He stated that Saichander had always been present at the public meetings he addressed, highlighting the singer's active involvement in supporting the cause.
Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao said he was saddened over death of Saichander. Taking to Twitter, Rao said, "Shocked and saddened by this sudden loss. A great artist and humble soul our Sai was. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends Gone way too soon Brother. We will miss you and that amazing voice that moved so many people. May your soul rest in peace."
TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy and BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar also expressed their grief.
