People heard an explosion in the early hours of Tuesday, at the Islamabad Police Station in Amritsar, Punjab which spread panic in the area.
According to ANI, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that a blast was heard at 3 am, but there were no signs of any damage and nobody was hurt. Meanwhile, individuals have claimed responsibility on social media and the police have verified claims.
Bhullar said that the sentry had “heard the noise around 3 am-3:15 am”, and when he check there were no damages. “People claimed responsibility on social media. We verified those claims," the ACP added.
The police further said that such incidents were reported over the past few days. The police have arrested 12 people in relation to these blasts, while the search for 2-3 suspects is still going on.
Bhullar told ANI that they nabbed around 10 people from a module earlier, including two brothers of which one is a juvenile. They gave out one of the names, Aman Khokar.
“2-3 others are on our target and they will be nabbed soon. Old incidents have been traded and we are verifying this incident as to what has been used here,” Bhullar was quoted as saying by ANI.
