A massive fire has broken out at an LPG cylinder godown on the Morbi-Maliya Highway near Gala Village of Rajkot District in Gujarat. Fire tenders have been rushed to the spot and an operation is underway to control the fire. No casualty has been reported yet and the cause of the fire is being investigated.



Visuals of the incident showed a few LPG cylinders that could be brought out. A cylinder's twisted remains could also be seen lying on the road in front of the go down.


Monday's Morbi fire comes close on the heels of a similiar incident at a furniture godown in Gujarat's Rajkot on June 22. According to Rajkot's chief fire officer I V Kher, the flames went up three stories high. As many as 50 workers were evacuated from the factory due to the fire.


The same day, a fire broke out in a private bus due to a technical fault in K Bitragunta village of Prakasam District in the early morning hours. The private bus carrying 25 passengers caught fire at K Bitragunta village in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, fire department officials said. The bus was on its way from Hyderabad to Pondicherry on National Highway 16 when it caught fire due to a technical malfunction. The driver immediately alerted the passengers, who made it out safely, the officials further informed. However, the luggage of the passengers was burnt in the blaze.


Two days later, a fire broke out at a shopping mall in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. 



A month ago, a massive fire engulfed a plastic factory owned by Formosa Synthetics Pvt Ltd in Goblej village of Gujarat's Kheda district. The fire was caused by a short circuit on the factory premises.
