Maharashtra News Updates: C. P. Radhakrishnan was appointed as the new governor of Maharashtra on Sunday. After Ramesh Bais (February 18, 2023, to July 28, 2024) and Bhagat Singh Koshyari (2019–2023), Radhakrishnan became the third governor of Maharashtra in the last five years. Radhakrishnan became the 24th governor of Maharashtra with this appointment.

On July 28, the tenure of the current governor of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais, came to an end, and a new governor was named. Notably, extensions were not granted to governors appointed during the first term of the Modi government, meaning it is unlikely that departing governors will be granted another term.
