New Delhi: The political agitation in Maharashtra intensified as rebellion within Shiv Sena entered its fourth day on Friday. As the state reels under a political turmoil, Maharashtra Police has been put on high alert, news agency ANI reported. As per the order, all police stations in the state, especially in Mumbai, will remain on high alert.
"Police received info that Shiv Sainiks can take to the streets in large numbers," the Maharashtra police said in a statement as per ANI.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray slammed Sena Minister Eknath Shinde during a meet at Sena Bhavan in Mumbai, saying that he did everything for Shinde as even the department earlier now Maha CM had was given to Shinde.
Eknath Shinde is at the center of ongoing political storm in Maharashtra. He launched a rebellion with reportedly over 40 MLAs supporting him to push the Shiv-Sena-led Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government to the brink of collapse.
"I am not greedy for power. People who used to say, we will die but never leave Shiv Sena, ran away today. Rebel MLAs want to break Shiv Sena. If they have courage, they should go among people without taking Balasaheb and Shiv Sena's names," the chief minister said.
