Another Child Died In Rewa Borewell In April
In April, a 6-year-old child died after he fell into a 60-foot-deep borewell in Rewa. The incident occurred in the Manika village area, approximately 90 kilometres from the district headquarters. Mayur, also known as Mayank, was the son of Vijay, an Adivasi. He was playing with other children in a field when he accidentally fell into the open borewell.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the authorities were alerted by the family members.
The ensuing rescue operation was complicated by rain. The child was trapped 60 feet below the ground. As part of the rescue operation, an oxygen cylinder was lowered into the ditch, and a camera also sent in to monitor the child's movements closely.
After a 45-hour-long operation, the child’s body was brought out of the borewell.
