Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday was spotted enjoying a meal at a local restaurant in Bhopal. The Chief Minister, accompanied by his family, not only dined at the establishment but also participated in the celebration of a child's birthday. Expressing his joy about the experience, Chief Minister Chouhan stated, "I felt really good among people...we're all one family. I am happy that I got to meet people while having food."

He added, "There were several birthdays here, including children and adults. Celebrated their birthdays with them and sent them heartfelt wishes."

Earlier in the day, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath, along with his son Nakul Nath, met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to extend their congratulations for the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) victory in the recent assembly polls. Despite the political rivalry and exchange of barbs leading up to the polls on November 17, Nath presented Chouhan with a bouquet, acknowledging the BJP's triumph in securing 163 out of 230 seats, while the Congress was limited to 66 seats.

Meanwhile, discussions within the BJP have shifted towards the selection of chief ministers in the states where the party emerged victorious. The central leadership, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda, held meetings to decide on the future leadership. Sources reveal that observers will soon be appointed to oversee the election of leaders by the newly elected MLAs in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

While the BJP secured a massive mandate in these states, party leaders emphasise that the victory is a testament to the wider popular support for its policies and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, rather than a result of any particular state's scheme.

BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, elected as an MLA from Madhya Pradesh, echoed this sentiment, attributing the victory to Modi's leadership rather than any specific state initiative. When questioned about the impact of the 'Ladli Behna' scheme on the win, Vijayvargiya pointed out that this scheme was not implemented in Chhattisgarh or Rajasthan, news agency PTI reported.

As discussions on chief ministerial picks continue, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan remains a strong contender following the party's significant win. Other potential candidates include Union Ministers Prahlad Patel, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Narendra Singh Tomar, and Vijayvargiya, reflecting the array of possibilities within the BJP leadership.
