Lokayukta Raids 56 Sites Linked To Govt Officers, Engineers In Karnataka Over 'Disproportionate Assets'

The Lokayukta raids were conducted in nine districts including Mandya, Kolar, Belagavi, Mysore and Hassan districts.

The Lokayukta officials conducted early morning raids on Thursday across nine districts in Karnataka in connection with 11 cases registered with the agency. The raids were held at the residences of government officers and engineers suspected of amassing disproportionate assets.

Approximately 100 Lokayukta officials executed the operation, supervising raids at 56 different locations. The operation was overseen by the Superintendents of the respective districts, focusing on officers from various departments.

The raids were conducted in 9 districts including Mandya, Kolar, Belagavi, Mysore and Hassan districts.

 

In Bengaluru, the residence of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) worker was raided. The places linked to him were also inspected, as reported by IANS. 

They also raided the residences of Grade-1 Secretary in Hassan and Bengaluru.

In Kalaburagi, the raid was conducted at the residence of a Revenue Officer currently posted in Kengeri Division of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). In Mandya, the Lokayukta sleuths raided the home of a retired executive engineer from the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Division. In Chitradurga, the residence of a retired chief engineer from the Minor Irrigation Department in Bengaluru was also searched, according to a report on PTI.

Among other officials raided were a Tehsildar in Kolar, a Superintending Engineer, an Executive Engineer, and an Assistant Executive Engineer. However, Lokayukta is yet to issue an official statement. 

Similarly, raids was carried out at places linked to 100 officials across Bengaluru, Bidar, Ramanagara, and Uttara Kannada districts in March. Five locations were raided in Bengaluru alone. Earlier, in February this year, another raid took place at 40 different locations.
