A 25-year-old woman was found dead in her flat in Kengeri Upanagara, Bengaluru, police reported on Wednesday. The police suspect that the victim Navyashree, a dance instructor from Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district, was reportedly killed by her husband after an escalated domestic dispute.

Navyashree had been married to Kiran for three years and was living with him in SMV Layout. On the morning of August 27, Navyashree had reached out to her friend Aishwarya, expressing distress over ongoing personal and marital issues. Aishwarya, who later filed the police complaint, arrived at Navyashree's home around 4:30 PM and learned that her friend was feeling increasingly unsafe, according to a report on India Today.

Seeking advice, Navyashree contacted another friend, Anil, who suggested she file a police complaint against her husband to seek intervention. The three met that evening, discussing the possibility of seeking help from the authorities, reported Times Now. After dropping Anil off, Navyashree and Aishwarya returned home around 11:30 PM and went to bed.

The next morning, Aishwarya, who had consumed alcohol the previous night, awoke to find Navyashree unresponsive and immediately raised an alarm, alerting neighbors and contacting the police, as per the reports.

According to initial investigations, Kiran, who allegedly harbored suspicions about his wife, is believed to have entered the flat using a spare key. The police suspect he tortured and strangled Navyashree, leaving her bound to a chair. Based on Aishwarya's account, Kiran was subsequently detained.

The Kengeri Police have registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as investigations continue to uncover the full details of the tragic incident.
