New Delhi: After the tragic murder of Haryana INLD chief Nafe Singh Rathee, a controversy has erupted over the law and order situation in the state. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said during the State assembly session on Monday that the murder case of the Haryana INLD chief would be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for investigation.
"Haryana INLD chief Nafe Singh Rathee's murder case will be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The accused of this murder case will not be spared and the strictest action will be taken. Police is investigating this matter," he remarked, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Earlier in the day, INLD Secretary General Abhay Singh Chautala vehemently condemned the murder of Nafe Singh Rathee, asserting the need for swift action against the suspects, saying, "The suspects in this case should be immediately arrested. We completely trust the Haryana Police but we do not trust the state government because this is a political murder. Nafe Singh Rathee demanded security many times in the past..."
He reiterated the party's demand for a CBI probe into the matter and stated, "The matter should be investigated by the CBI in the presence of a sitting judge... The CM has publicly said that he cannot ensure the safety and security of the common man in the state... The family of Nafe Singh has suspected a few people, and instead of taking action against the suspects, I've heard they have tightened their security... Whatever decision is taken by his family, his 'khap' and the people of his region, will be the decision of our party."
