IND vs ENG 4th Test HIGHLIGHTS: India defeated England by 5 wickets in the fourth Test match against England at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. Despite conceding a first-innings lead to England, the hosts came back to eventually emerge on top. England won the toss and chose to bat first. The Three Lions then went on to post a formidable 357 in the first innings riding on Joe Root's hundred who remained unbeaten 122.

In response, India were bowled out for 307, conceding a 46-run lead to the Three Lions. The lead could have been much bigger for England had it not been for Dhruv Jurel's 90 lower down the order after Yashasvi Jaiswal's 73 up the order. Shoaib Bashir scalped a five-wicket haul to hand the visitors a first innings advantage. However, the Indian spinners put on a terrific performance in the second innings.

While Ravichandran Ashwin registered a five-wicket haul (5/51), Kuldeep Yadav returned with figures of 4 for 22. Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with a solitary wicket to go with his four-fer in the first innings.

India Win 5-Match Series With Match To Go

That meant India needed 192 to win in the fourth innings and once Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on 84 runs for the first wicket, a victory looked all but certain. There were a few hiccups as the hosts were reduced to 120/5. However, Shubman Gill and Jurel then stitched an unbeaten 72-run partnership to see India home. Gill finished not out on 52 off 124 deliveries after Rohit's 55 up at the top.

Bashir was once again the top wicket-taker for England in the second innings, finishing with 3 for 79 but that wasn't enough for the England to snatch a win from India. The Men in Blue's victory now means they have bagged the series with a match to go, having gone 3-1 up in the five-match bilateral series.
