New Delhi: A day after Congress secured a thumping victory in Karnataka, Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that Congress is getting people's support because it has been raising important and relevant issues.

"We are getting people's support because our issues are important," Pilot said while speaking to ANI.

Speaking on the corruption charges leveled against the BJP government in Karnataka, he said, "Middle-class suffers the most because of corruption and the allegations we had put on Bommai Govt have proved to be right and this is why people have voted for us in Karnataka."

On Thursday, challenging Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Congress' top brass, Pilot launched a 125-km-long "Jan Sangharsh Yatra" from Ajmer to Jaipur to raise the issue of corruption and the leaking of question papers for state government recruitment exams.

"CM is the face of the state and Ashok Gehlot ji and I will have to unitedly fight against issues of corruption. I have been writing letters for a long time to take action against issues of corruption," he told ANI.

Pilot added, "I have been demanding the same in Rajasthan for the last four years. For some reason, there has been no action against corruption. I don't know what reason."

The march comes days after Gehlot accused the MLAs involved in the 2020 revolt of taking money from the BJP. Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs had then sought a leadership change in Rajasthan.

He was sacked as the party's state unit president and the deputy chief minister.

Gehlot and Pilot have been at loggerheads over the post of chief minister ever since the party formed the government in Rajasthan in 2018.
