New Delhi: As part of an outreach programme of the BJP party, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Sunday held a rally in Haryana's Sirsa. Addressing the rally, Shah hit out at Congress remarking that Bhupinder Singh Hooda-led government in Haryana was a "3D Government" - government of 'Darbaris', 'Damads', and 'Dealers'.
The Home Minister said, "A corruption of Rs 12 lakh crores was done during Congress govt, but in the last 9 years, even our opposition cannot accuse Modi govt of a single corruption case."
According to the Home Minister, the Manmohan Singh government stayed quiet when Pakistan terrorists beheaded soldiers, but the Modi government gave a befitting reply to Pakistan for Uri and Pulwama attacks.
"9 years ago, terrorists from Pakistan intruded India’s land and killed our soldiers, but the then Manmohan & Sonia govt kept silent. After Modi ji became the PM, Pakistan tried to do the same, and within 10 days we gave Pakistan a befitting reply with surgical strikes and air strikes," he said.
Under the one-month-long ‘Maha Jan Sampark’ programme which started on June 1, the party is holding rallies, meeting prominent persons, and reaching out to beneficiaries of central schemes.
"Bhagwat Mann has time for Kejriwal but not for the people of Punjab. The people of Punjab are feeling insecure. Law and order have degraded in the state. The people (of Punjab) will teach a lesson for this," he remarked while addressing the public meeting in Gurdaspur.
For Shah's visit to Sirsa in Haryana, more than 30 senior police officers, including 15 IPS officers, were overseeing the security, official sources said.
