Nuh Violence: Residents in Nuh district stepped out of their homes to buy essentials after District Magistrate lifted the curfew for three hours on Sunday from 9 am to 12 noon. Visuals posted by the news agency ANI show people coming out of their houses to purchase vegetables from Nuh Sabzi Mandi and other essential items. Notably, Nuh District Magistrate Dhirendra Khadgata, in an official order, lifted the curbs to allow people to get necessary items as per their requirements.

This comes after the state administration on Sunday extended the ban mobile internet, bulk SMS and all dongle services in the district till Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Haryana Home Secretary TVSN Prasad, in an order dated 05.08.2023, said that the mobile internet services, bulk SMS (excluding banking and mobile recharge) and all dongle services will remain shut till 11:59 PM on August 8 to 'prevent any disturbance of peace and public order'.

"Curfew in Nuh lifted for the movement of public from 9 am to 12 noon (3 hours only) today, on 6th August 2023," the order from DM read.

Also, as per the order, individual SMS, mobile recharge, banking SMS, voice calls, internet services provided by broadband and lease lines of corporate and domestic households will continue to function in the 'commerical/financial interest of State and basic domestic needs of individuals'.

Notably, the internet and SMS services were suspended earlier this week after clashes broke out between two communities during a VHP procession in Nuh leading to days of arson in Haryana.
