Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy alleged that a Russian-guided air bomb struck a blood transfusion centre in north-eastern Ukraine that left many dead and injured. Zelenskyy added that rescuers were trying to tackle a blaze following the strike on the Kupiansk community in the Kharkiv region on Saturday night. He said, "Defeating terrorists is a matter of honour for everyone who values life." He added that in another strike on the same evening, Russia also carried out a missile attack that targetted an aeronautical company in the western Khmelnytskyi. Meanwhile Russia on the other hand has not commented anything on the reported attack, reported BBC News.

The Ukrainian President in a post on social media described perpetrators as 'beasts' who were "seeking to 'destroy everything that simply allows us to live. This crime alone says everything about Russian aggression."

Zelesnkyy didn't give any number regarding the people who either got killed or injured during this attack.

Russia took over the city of Kupiansk and its nearby settlements back in February 2022 voz. during the first few days of the invasion only. It was then liberated by Ukraine during a 'lightning quick' counter-offensive last September.

The said Russian attacks on Saturday comes after Moscow accused Kyiv of hitting a Russian tanker in the black sea. As per BBC, 11 crew members were on that attacked ship earlier and this was the second such sea attack in the past few days. According to Russian maritime officials, the engine room of the Sig tanker was damaged in the attack in the Kerch Strait. The officials added that no one got injured. After this attack, the Crimea Bridge and boat service were shut down for many hours, according to Russian-installed officials in Crimea, which Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014.

According to a Ukrainian intelligence source, the drone carrying 450 kg of explosives struck the SIG vessel when it was transporting fuel for the Russian troops in Ukrainian territorial waters, reported Reuters.
