In another shocker, a dead rat was found inside a bowl of sambar at Devi Dosa restaurant in Ahmedabd's Nikol area in Gujarat. Following this, the restaurant was sealed and its kitchen space was deemed unsafe by the health department in Ahmedabad. The incident comes days after a decomposed frog was allegedly found inside a packet of potato wafers in Gujarat's Jamnagar.


The video of the dead rat inside the bowl was shared by a page named Ahmedabad Updates on Instagram, along with a caption written in Gujarati.






"A dead baby rat was found in the sambar in Nikol area in the dosa restaurant," the caption read, as translated in English.


The video of the shocking incident has gone viral on the internet and clearly shows a small rat in the sambar bowl. This discovery has raised questions on the hygiene of the kicthen space at the restaurant.


As per media reports, the restaurant owner Alpesh Kevadiya did not take any action regarding the incident, which further escalated the matter to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's health department.

Reacting to the complaint filed against the dosa restaurant, the health department sent a team to check the kitchen space there, to assess in what conditions the food was being prepared.


After inspecting the kitchen, authorities discovered that the space where the food was prepared was open and deemed it unsafe. Thereafter, the team sealed the restaurant and issued a notice to Kevadiya.


Besides, the restaurant owner has been instructed to address the issues immediately in order to avoid any further repercussions.


Earlier this month, a Mumbai doctor found a severed human finger in an ince cream cone he ordered online. A Noida woman, on June 16, had also found a centipede in her ice cream, she ordered online.


In another similar incident, a social media user claimed that his relatives, who were travelling in the Vande Bharat Express had found a dead cockroach in the food served on the train, while on their way to Agra from Bhopal on June 18.
