In a shocker from Mumbai, a miscellaneous order from an online delivery app has garnered nationwide attention for the most bizarre reason. It all happened when a woman from the city's Malad area ordered groceries via an online delivery app including an ice cream for her brother, Orlem Brendan Serrao.
As he unwrapped the Yummo butterscotch cone and started to relish the ice cream, something hard hit his tongue. Upon pulling out the object, he discovered it was a piece of a human finger about 2 centimetres long, as per a report by the Free Press Journal. Serrao should know what he was talking about as he is a MBBS doctor, the report added.
He told FPJ that his sister had ordered groceries through the online delivery app when he asked her to include three butterscotch cone ice creams in the list.

The woman dashed to the Malad police station to register a complaint and the police booked the ice cream company. The human organ found in the ice cream has also been sent for forensic investigation, the police said.
"A woman found a piece of human finger inside an ice cream cone that was ordered online in the Malad area of Mumbai. After which the woman reached Malad police station. Malad police registered a case against the Yummo ice cream company and sent the ice cream for investigation. Police have sent the human organ found in the ice cream to FSL (Forensic)," said the Malad police in a statement, reported ANI.
The police have registered a case against the ice cream company under Sections 272, 272, and 336 of the Indian Penal Code and the investigation is underway.
Serrao, who is pursuing his post-graduate studies, also took up the matter and lodged a complaint with the ice cream company on its Instagram page, the police added, as per a PTI report.
